About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking to lease approximately 2,000-2,300 net usable square feet of medical space in Safford, Arizona, to establish a Community Based Out-Patient Clinic (CBOC). The VA requires a minimum of 11 parking spaces and will prioritize existing buildings over build-to-suit options and new construction. Interested parties must submit Expressions of Interest electronically by September 30, 2025, to the VA's Lease Contracting Specialist. The property must be located within specific geographic boundaries in Safford and comply with numerous technical and operational specifications for medical facility operations.
This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designations, though the solicitation encourages responses from Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), and other small businesses. The small business size standard is set at $30.0 million under NAICS Code 531120 for Lessors of Nonresidential Buildings. The lease structure includes a 5-year firm term with an optional 5-year extension, though lease extensions will be negotiated separately and are not guaranteed. The estimated commencement date is targeted for the 3rd Quarter of 2028, with flexibility for earlier or later start dates depending on circumstances.
