About this opportunity
The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) issued this Request for Information (RFI) on December 12, 2025, seeking candidates for a Technology Experimentation event focused on Agentic Artificial Intelligence capabilities designed for Special Operations Forces. This Special Notice targets research and development organizations, private industry, and academic institutions interested in exploring innovative AI technologies. The RFI explicitly seeks solutions at Technology Readiness Levels 3-6 and emphasizes that only truly agentic, multi-agent AI solutions will be considered, with automation technologies excluded. The experimentation event represents an opportunity for technology developers to interact directly with operational personnel and demonstrate how their innovations could enhance SOF capabilities. No contracts will be directly awarded from this RFI, though selected participants will be invited to present their technologies at the event. All submission and travel costs are the responsibility of respondents.
Interested organizations must submit nominations through the Vulcan system and complete a mandatory electronic supplemental information form by January 12, 2026, at 12:00 Noon EST to participate in the Technical Experimentation event scheduled for April 13-17, 2026, at Avon Park Air Force Range, Florida. Key technology areas of focus include agentic protocols, workflows, human-machine teaming, knowledge representation, low Size Weight and Power-Compute solutions, AI agent frameworks, metrics assessment, collaborative autonomous systems, and multi-agent coordination. Participants are required to submit comprehensive safety documentation, including a completed DD Form 2977 Deliberate Risk Assessment worksheet and compliance with MIL-STD-882E system safety standards, with additional safety analyses encouraged for systems containing lasers, energetic materials, or radio-frequency emitters. Selected participants must also execute a Photograph/Media Consent and Release form authorizing USSOCOM to capture and distribute media of their equipment and demonstrations for educational and promotional purposes without additional compensation.
