About this opportunity

The Naval Supply Systems Command seeks preventative maintenance, calibration, and repair services for a HistoCore PELORIS 3 110V Dual Retort tissue processor aboard the USNS Comfort hospital ship, with the response deadline extended to June 3, 2026.

This is a Women-Owned Small Business set-aside. The source materials indicate conflicting procurement postures: the original RFQ was issued as a WOSB set-aside competitive solicitation, but a sole source notice posted June 2, 2026 announces intent to award to Leica Microsystems Inc. under FAR Part 13 procedures without competition, contingent on consideration of any information received by the response deadline.

Place of performance is Norfolk Naval Base, Norfolk, Virginia. The contractor must provide all-inclusive labor, supervision, parts, diagnostic equipment, inspections, and shipping to maintain the equipment within original equipment manufacturer specifications in like-new or better condition. The contract structure is a base year (July 8, 2026 through July 7, 2027) plus three option years, extending through July 7, 2030. Services are firm fixed price. Response time requirements mandate telephonic or electronic acknowledgment within four business hours and on-site service completion within five business days for routine maintenance; activation events require in-person response within 48 hours. Acceptance is documented via DD250 signed by the Contracting Officer's Representative and USNS Comfort WAWF Acceptor. The NAICS code is 811210, Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance; PSC is J020, Maint/Repair/Rebuild Of Equipment—Ship and Marine Equipment. Amendment 0004 (posted June 2, 2026) extended the deadline from May 29 to June 3, 2026.
