About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Integrated Service Network 9 issued Amendment 0003 to RFQ 36C24926Q0177 extending the offer deadline to May 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM CDT for refurbishment of air handling units at Tennessee Valley Healthcare System Nashville VAMC; the opportunity is set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business.

The work encompasses design, fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC equipment including fans, motors, air-handling units, and air coils across multiple fan rooms serving critical hospital areas including the Autopsy/Morgue, 3rd/4th floor clinic addition, Ward 2 North, Ward 4 North, and Ward 3 South. Specifications mandate NEMA premium efficiency motors, AMCA-certified centrifugal fans with dynamic balancing, factory-fabricated AHUs with insulated double-wall galvanized steel construction (minimum 50mm foam insulation), plenum fans with variable frequency drives (Danfoss brand per facility standard), stainless steel condensate drain pans, and epoxy-coated copper fin coils. Replacement fan motors must be severe-duty IEEE 841 rated at 480-V. Two-piece chilled water coils are acceptable for space-constrained units where replacement coils match existing dimensions, fin density, and pressure drop within reasonable tolerances. New pipe insulation must comply with VA Master Specification 23 07 11 with minimum thicknesses of 1.5"–2" for chilled water, 1"–2" for heating hot water, and 1" for condensate. Test and balance procedures require AABC or NEBB-certified specialists with one-week advance scheduling. UV lighting systems must operate at 254 nm germicidal range per VA Master Specification 23 40 00 with acceptable manufacturers including UV Resources, SterilAire, and FreshAire UV. Installation mandates factory assembly and testing, field rigging by qualified personnel, vibration tolerance of 0.005 m/s RMS maximum, and leakage class ratings not exceeding CL 12. Equipment submittals require complete dimensional drawings, performance test results, shipping specifications, sound power levels, and fan curves. Siemens Building Automation System integration requires VA-approved vendors. Offerors must acknowledge receipt of this amendment by the extended deadline.
