About this opportunity
The National Institutes of Health Office of Logistics and Acquisition Operations is preparing to solicit offers for a Transscleral Flood Illumination add-on module for the rtx1 Adaptive Optics Retinal Camera, with a response deadline of August 26, 2026. No set-aside is anticipated.
The TFI module extends the rtx1 camera's imaging capability to visualize small retinal structures typically invisible in standard adaptive optics images, enabling investigation of retinal anatomy, pathology, and therapy at the microscopic scale beyond photoreceptors. The technology supports clinical trials and provides capability to monitor progression of ocular diseases at the cellular level before significant damage occurs. IMAGINE OPTICS is identified in the Notice of Intent filed under solicitation number 75N98026Q01026IMAGINEOPTICPCANEW08531.
The procurement is categorized under NAICS 423490 (Other Professional Equipment and Supplies Merchant Wholesalers) and PSC 6640 (Laboratory Equipment and Supplies).
Notice text
THE TRANSSCLERAL FLOOD ILLUMINATION MODULE FOR THE RTX 1 EXTENDS THE IMAGING CAPABILITY OF THE RTX1 ADAPTIVE OPTICS CAMERA. IF PROVIDES A TOLL FOR INVESTIGATING RETINAL ANATOMY, PATHOLOGY AND THERAPY AT THE MICROSCOPIC SCALE BEYOUND PHOTORECEPTORS. THIS TECHNOLOGY ENABLES VISUALIZARTION OF SMALL RETINAL STRUCTURES THAT ARE USUALLY INVISIBLE IN ADAPTIVE OPTICS IMAGES. THIS TECHNOLOGY COULD PROVE HELPFUL IN CLINICAL TRIALS AND DEMONSTRAGTE CAPABILITY IN MONITORING THE PROGRESSION OF VARIOUS OCULAR DISEASES AT A CELLULAR LEVEL BEFORE SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE SETS IN.
