About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Global Strike Command, through its 7th Contracting Squadron, is conducting market research to identify sources capable of providing a trailer-mounted mobile fuel bowser. This Sources Sought notice is preliminary in nature and does not constitute a binding commitment to contract; rather, it is designed to determine the availability of capable vendors, including small businesses, before the government finalizes its acquisition strategy. The mobile fuel bowser must meet specific salient characteristics including a dual-axle trailer with electric brakes, 500-gallon internally baffled fuel tank, diesel-driven fuel pump with electric start, mechanical fuel dispensing meter, 50-foot diesel fuel hose with high-flow swivel and nozzle, static discharge reel, electric trailer jack, DOT trailer lighting, work lights, solar battery charger, spill containment kit, lockable security cabinets, filtration system, air compressor with hose and reel, and weather-resistant construction suitable for heavy-duty off-road and remote operations without requiring special driver certification. While this notice does not specify formal evaluation criteria as would appear in a binding solicitation, the government's assessment will be based on vendors' demonstrated capability to meet the stated minimum salient characteristics. The deadline for interested parties to submit capability statements is April 24, 2026, with the equipment required for delivery to Dyess Air Force Base in Texas.
This procurement opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, restricting competition to qualified small business concerns. The notice does not identify any incumbent contractors or current service providers, as this is preliminary market research. No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in the Sources Sought notice, and the quantity required (a single unit or multiple units) is not explicitly stated in the available documentation. The NAICS classification for this procurement is 336212 (Truck Trailer Manufacturing), and the PSC category is 2330 (Trailers), indicating the government's expectations regarding vendor classification and industry expertise. As responses to this Sources Sought are voluntary and submitted at no cost to the government, interested vendors should prepare comprehensive capability statements demonstrating their ability to manufacture and deliver equipment meeting all specified requirements.
