About this opportunity
The Department of Agriculture Forest Service seeks to upgrade IT infrastructure and extend Agency Dedicated Internet service to multiple facilities across nine Ranger Districts on the Tongass National Forest in Alaska, with proposals due July 10, 2026 at 1200 Alaska time. This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS 334118 (Computer Terminal and Other Computer Peripheral Equipment Manufacturing).
Place of performance spans nine Ranger District locations in Southeast Alaska: Sitka, Juneau/Angoon, Thorne Bay, Craig, Petersburg, Wrangell, Yakutat, Hoonah, and Ketchikan/Hyder. Delivery must be completed FOB destination to all nine locations by May 30, 2026, with no partial shipments accepted and 48-hour advance notice required. The period of performance runs July 15 through August 20, 2026.
The procurement covers 85 line items of telecommunications and networking equipment, including fiber optic cables (direct burial, aerial, and plenum-rated indoor/outdoor), Ethernet cabling and connectors, telecommunications cabinets, uninterruptible power supplies (200W through 700W), patch panels, grounding equipment, conduit and fittings, outdoor distribution enclosures, cable installation tools, and related hardware and fasteners. All items must include manufacturer specifications, operation and maintenance manuals, and warranty information within 15 business days of award. The government clarified that equal to or better alternative manufacturers are acceptable if they meet or exceed salient characteristics specifications. All items require a minimum one-year manufacturer warranty against defects and workmanship. The government will self-perform equipment installation with no planned follow-up solicitation for installation services.
Evaluation weighs technical capability, past performance, and price. Invoicing must be submitted through the Invoice Processing Platform using contract line item numbers. The contracting officer is Raymond Padgett (907-229-4140). Amendment A0002, posted June 23, updated quantities and item descriptions for CLINs 0001 through 0049 and added CLINs 0050 through 0085.
