About this opportunity

The U.S. Embassy in Pretoria is soliciting quotations for lawn treatment services across five properties located throughout the city. The Department of State's facility management team requires comprehensive chemical-based lawn treatment including pesticide, herbicide, fungicide, and fertilizer applications performed on a monthly basis. Contractors must demonstrate significant qualifications including certified and trained personnel for all chemical handling, compliance with pre-approval requirements from the Embassy's Plant and Safety Health Officer, strict adherence to an approved chemical list, and maintenance of appropriate security clearances for permanent employees. The contracting officer will evaluate submissions based on the completeness and quality of quotes submitted on company letterhead with full contact information, though specific evaluation criteria beyond quote completeness are not detailed in the available documentation. Critical deadlines include submission of a completed Visitor Access Request (VAR) document by February 2, 2026, attendance at a mandatory site meeting on February 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Arcadia property, and submission of all quotations by 5:00 p.m. on February 10, 2026, with quote reference number PR15712605 submitted electronically to pretoria_contracting_office-dl@state.gov.

This procurement carries no small business set-aside designation and does not identify any incumbent contractor in the available materials. No specific budget range or award value has been disclosed. The contract will operate on a 12-month performance period with lawn treatment services scheduled for the first or last Friday of each month, with each treatment session lasting approximately three hours at the five specified Pretoria properties: 877 Pretorius Street in Arcadia, 193 Taurus Avenue in Waterkloof Ridge, 357 Victoria Street in Waterkloof, 370 Mackenzie Street in Brooklyn, and 100 Totius Street in Groenkloof, all in Pretoria, South Africa. All contractors and personnel must comply with strict security requirements including prohibition of firearms on U.S. Embassy compound property, mandatory on-site supervision fluent in English, and provision of proper safety data sheets and chemical documentation. International companies seeking to bid must register with SAM.gov and obtain an NCAGE code if not previously registered for federal contracts.
