About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force's Air Education and Training Command at Laughlin AFB, Texas has issued a Special Notice for a Command Post Badging System procurement. The 47th Contracting Squadron intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price Purchase Order for an access control badging system project at Building 344, specifically for the 47 FTW Command Post in Suite 129. The procurement will utilize oral solicitations under FAR 13.106-1 due to the non-complex nature and low dollar value of the requirement, with no formal solicitation posted on SAM.gov. The notice was amended to change from a small business set-aside to full and open competition. The government has already identified eligible vendors and posted this notice solely for FAR compliance purposes.
The primary objective is to install a proximity RFID badge system compatible with DoD Common Access Cards that can control access to interior doors and expand to additional locations including alternate Emergency Operations Centers. The system must support a minimum of 500 users, control at least 10 doors with expansion capability to 20, and maintain a 12-month audit trail while integrating with existing locking mechanisms. Interested contractors must submit a Statement of Intent with supporting documentation including references from similar projects within the past three years, capability statements, and signed acknowledgement of the remote Del Rio, Texas location by September 15, 2025. The government anticipates making an award within 10 calendar days of the notice date, with installation and training required within 60 days of service request. While initially limited to small businesses, the amended notice opens the opportunity to all qualified contractors under full and open competition.
