About this opportunity

The Air Force Sustainment Center anticipates soliciting repair services for C-5 Aft Center Cargo Doors (left and right sides) with an RFI response deadline of June 5, 2026; this requirement carries a Total Small Business set-aside.

The procurement concerns two components: the left-hand side door (NSN 1560-01-296-6316UC, part number 4F69010-101A, RMC/RMSC R1/G) and right-hand side door (NSN 1560-01-297-9975UC, part number 4F69010-102A, RMC/RMSC R2/G). Both doors are split down the centerline and mounted at the rear of C-5 "C" model aircraft for cargo loading and unloading. The government holds complete technical data rights with no engineering, tooling, or repair restrictions; both components are classified for full and open competition under their RMSC G designation.

The contractor must perform teardown and inspection per Technical Order 1C-5M-3 and Lockheed Drawing 4F69010, prepare formal teardown and inspection reports (CDRL A005), develop 3D as-designed models (CDRL A007), and generate simplified overhaul manuals (CDRL A006). First Unit Repair Verification requirements include CAD compare analysis using laser-scanned as-manufactured models with deviations exceeding 0.1 inches reported separately; all discrepancies outside repairable limits go to AFLCMC/WLSEBA via AFMC Form 202.

Place of performance is not specified. The doors will remain in service until aircraft retirement in 2045. The RFI requests contractor capability statements addressing facility capabilities, past performance on similar repairs, quality systems (ISO 9001, AS9100), IVHMS experience, classified material handling capability, and current monthly capacity.
