About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 17 is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive sterile processing service water testing across four locations in San Antonio, TX. The primary objective is to ensure effective water quality for medical device processing through rigorous testing of utility water, critical water, and steam in accordance with ANSI/AAMI ST108:2023 standards. The contractor will be responsible for monthly water monitoring, quarterly sanitization of reverse osmosis systems, and potentially installing up to 10 new point-of-use test ports. Proposals are due by 9:00 AM CST on May 9, 2025, and must be submitted electronically in four separate volumes. The evaluation will likely focus on the contractor's ability to provide a fully qualified laboratory, conduct precise testing at specific points of use, and provide immediate notification of any positive bacterial samples.
The solicitation is exclusively set aside for Certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), with a total contract value of $41 million. The contract structure includes a base year from June 30, 2025, to June 29, 2026, with four additional one-year option periods, bringing the total potential contract duration to five years. Contractors must demonstrate the capability to perform water testing across multiple healthcare facilities, including Audie Murphy, Dental SPS, Kerrville, and Northwest Healthcare Center. The specific performance location is San Antonio, Texas, and the work will involve comprehensive water system maintenance and testing to meet stringent healthcare environmental standards. Interested contractors must carefully review the ANSI/AAMI ST108:2023 guidelines and be prepared to adapt to any updates during the contract period.
