About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Energy has issued a Special Notice announcing a site visit for a gaseous helium procurement opportunity at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. The requirement involves supplying Gaseous Helium, Type I, Grade A (NSN 9135-01-664-2502) meeting MIL-PRF-27407E specifications, with an estimated annual usage of 80,000 cubic feet. The helium will be delivered from high-pressure trailers to a 12-flask bottle farm system used by the Air Force customer. This is an unrestricted acquisition under NAICS Code 325120 with a size standard of 1,200 employees. The delivery process is estimated to take 1-3 hours to complete, and vendors must provide all necessary hoses, fittings, and adapters for connecting to the bottle farm.
The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to facilitate a site visit that will ensure clear understanding of requirements between the government and industry, helping DLA Energy refine this new procurement requirement for future solicitation. The site visit is scheduled for July 22, 2025, at 09:00 AM at Building 2016, Hill Air Force Base, with interested parties needing to contact Matthew Simkovsky or Leno Smith to arrange base access. All responsible offerors are encouraged to participate in this unrestricted acquisition opportunity. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) to receive amendments and remain eligible for award, as the government will not provide notifications to unregistered entities. Additional potential services may include expedited/emergency delivery options and detention fees, with various deliveries required throughout the year to meet the customer's operational needs.
