About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 7 is seeking to procure a SecurView Workstation for the Birmingham VA Health Care System through a sole-source acquisition from Hologic Sales and Service, LLC. The procurement requires an intelligent workstation that enables radiologists to manage shared databases and access patient images instantly across clustered workstations. Key technical specifications include Microsoft Windows 2008, a 19-inch LCD color display, high-end dual quad processor, 16GB memory, 5TB SSD storage, multiple USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, DisplayPort graphics ports, Ethernet connectivity, and capabilities for query/retrieve, print, storage, and media export/import functions. The VA has identified Hologic as the sole distributor with unique proprietary capabilities to meet these requirements. The response deadline for this pre-solicitation notice is August 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM Eastern Time.

This procurement does not include any set-aside designations and is structured as a sole-source acquisition. Hologic Sales and Service, LLC has been identified as the intended sole contractor due to their proprietary capabilities and status as the exclusive distributor for the SecurView Workstation system. While the VA is proceeding with sole-source justification, they remain open to hearing from other potential providers who believe they can meet the specified requirements, though the final competitive determination remains at the government's discretion. The solicitation number is 36C24725Q0916, and the procurement falls under NAICS code 339113 for Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing.
