About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 21 intends to award a sole-source, firm fixed-price contract to Lunit Americas Inc. for Volpara mammography reporting system software at VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System, with a capability statement response deadline of September 3, 2026 at 3:00 PM Eastern Time.

Place of performance is 6900 Pecos Road, Las Vegas, Nevada. The software tracks mammography exams and monitors veteran BIRADS codes in compliance with FDA and National Mammography Program regulatory requirements. The procurement includes four annual option years and falls under FAR 12 authority for purchases above the micro-purchase threshold but not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold.

Market research identified 935 SDVOSBs and 983 VOSBs under NAICS 339112 but found no applicable alternative software compatible with existing on-site equipment. Volpara is documented as the sole manufacturer of software compatible with installed equipment and already licensed at the facility. The VA received a prior competed award on July 15, 2025, for the same software at $94,500.00 with three quotes, and has made multiple sole-source awards for this product.

Although the VA designated this for sole-source award, the solicitation will post to SAM.gov and the Government will consider all responsible sources submitting capability statements, proposals, or quotations before determining whether to proceed with sole-source acquisition. Contracting officer Mathew Czeshinski is reachable at Mathew.Czeshinski@va.gov. PSC code is 6525; NAICS code is 339112.
