About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 7 is seeking a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business contractor to support the installation of NextGen WiFi infrastructure at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, GA. The project requires installing 23 VA-provided WiFi access points with contractor-supplied mounting brackets, creating 5,000 linear feet of new conduit with junction boxes and fire stopping, and installing approximately 5,000 linear feet of CAT 6A cable terminated in patch panels. Contractors must submit quotes by March 10, 2025, at 3:00 PM EDT, with RFIs due by February 25, 2025. The solicitation (36C24725Q0353) indicates that while AT&T is handling the bulk of the WiFi installation under a separate contract, this specific opportunity focuses on supporting infrastructure preparation. Work must be completed within 120 days after notice to proceed and can be performed during business hours or after hours/weekends to avoid disrupting patient care.

The contract is a total set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses under NAICS code 238210 (Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors) with a size standard of $19.0 million. The estimated contract value ranges between $100,000 and $250,000, with work to be performed at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center located in Dublin, GA 31021. Contractors must adhere to strict safety protocols, including infection control procedures and OSHA safety training requirements, with 30-hour safety training for supervisors and 10-hour training for workers. The project involves intricate technical specifications, including mounting access points between 8-12 feet high, creating new conduit paths between floors and IT rooms, and ensuring minimal disruption to medical center operations. Key technical documentation, including detailed floor plans and access point location references, has been provided to support contractors in preparing their quotations.
