About this opportunity
The Department of State's Permanent Mission in Geneva, Switzerland is seeking qualified companies to provide short-term disability insurance coverage for U.S. Government employees stationed at the mission. The insurance is intended to protect employees against incapacity resulting from sickness or accident. The Government plans to award the contract to the lowest priced technically acceptable offeror that is a responsible contractor, indicating that both price and technical merit will drive the selection decision. All prospective offerors must be registered in the System of Award Management (SAM) database prior to contract award in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation provision 52.204-7, and registration prior to proposal submission is strongly encouraged. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on March 12, 2026, with a proposal due date of June 15, 2026, providing interested vendors approximately three months to prepare their submissions.
This procurement includes no set-aside designations and is open to all responsible sources. The anticipated contract structure consists of a base year with four one-year option periods at the Government's discretion, resulting in a potential five-year performance period if all options are exercised. The contract will be fixed price with economic price adjustment provisions, and any resulting awards will be issued as firm fixed-price task orders. No specific budget range or award value has been disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. The solicitation itself has not yet been issued on the Contract Opportunities website and will be published when ready, so interested contractors should monitor the website for the official Request for Proposal.
