About this opportunity
The Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), under the Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command, is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) to identify qualified vendors capable of providing comprehensive, turnkey airshow planning, management, and execution services for a large-scale public airshow at a military installation within the National Capital Region. The RFI is issued for market research and acquisition planning purposes only and does not constitute a formal solicitation for proposals. Interested vendors must submit responses by March 19, 2026, limited to 15 pages including the cover page in Adobe PDF format, via email to the designated points of contact with the subject line "Response to RFI for AFDW Airshow Planning Services." The evaluation criteria encompass five primary sections: Company Capabilities & Experience (demonstrating multi-day airshow experience with 100,000-200,000 attendees and relevant certifications), Scope of Services & Technical Approach (detailing turnkey service offerings and logistics methodology), Staffing & Key Personnel (organizational structure and key position qualifications), Safety, Security & Compliance (emergency response plans and regulatory compliance), and Business & Cost Structure (pricing models and financial management procedures). This RFI will not result in contract awards, and the government will not compensate respondents for their submissions or provide feedback on individual responses.
No set-aside designations apply to this market research initiative, and no incumbent contractors are identified in the notice. The RFI does not specify a contract award value or budget range, as this is a preliminary information-gathering exercise rather than a formal procurement action. Vendors must demonstrate experience managing events with attendance levels between 100,000 and 200,000 participants and provide portfolios showcasing at least three similar events completed within the past five years. The procurement falls under NAICS Code 711320 (Promoters of Performing Arts, Sports, and Similar Events without Facilities) and PSC Code R499 (Support-Professional: Other). Interested parties should note that submission is entirely voluntary, no questions regarding the RFI will be answered, and the government reserves the right to use the information gathered for future acquisition planning without obligation to issue a formal solicitation.
