About this opportunity

The Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), operating under the Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command, has issued a Special Notice to conduct market research on comprehensive, turnkey airshow management services. This notice announces a Pitch Day event scheduled for May 14, 2026, at Joint Base Andrews, where AFDW will gather information from industry regarding capabilities, approaches, and cost structures for managing large-scale Air Force airshows. The objective is to explore the feasibility of partnering with an industry expert to handle planning and execution of these events, enabling military personnel to focus on their core duties while maintaining professional standards. Responses gathered during this market research initiative will inform AFDW's future acquisition strategy and statement of work development.

Interested contractors must pre-register for the Pitch Day event through designated portals, with day-of registration available on a limited basis. Six 30-minute pitch slots are available for small businesses with large-scale event management experience, and the Government will confirm time slot assignments no later than one business day prior to the event. Contractors are encouraged to submit questions in advance to the points of contact listed in the notice. Eligible vendors should structure their pitches around five key categories: company capabilities and experience with events of 100,000-200,000 attendees and military collaboration; scope of services including detailed turnkey offerings and planning timelines; staffing and key personnel information; safety, security, and compliance protocols; and business and cost structure models. The notice provides historical reference data from the 2025 Joint Base Andrews Air & Space Expo, which encompassed a $2-5 million budget, 150,000 attendees over three days, and $770,000 in revenue generation. The due date for submissions is May 13, 2026, and AFDW reserves the right to discontinue the requirement if market research does not support acquisition viability.
