About this opportunity
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is conducting market research to identify sources capable of delivering a small to medium-sized Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) Tactical Resupply Unmanned Aircraft System (TRUAS) for the United States Marine Corps, with responses due by June 25, 2026. NAVAIR is considering awarding an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 4022 in FY2026.
The system must support small unit logistics across the last tactical mile in Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations (EABO) and Distributed Maritime Operations (DMO). Required capabilities include a payload capacity of 100–150 lbs, minimum 100-knot airspeed, 40 nautical mile combat radius, autonomous flight, cyber survivability, and interoperability with Marine Corps communication systems. The containerized solution must fit within a 4'x3'x2' volume with a maximum loaded weight of 150 lbs and four-person lift capability for transport via Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV). The government is exploring autonomy software solutions deployable on Android tablets, including Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK), and intends to utilize an Unmanned Common Controller (UCC) across all unmanned Marine Corps platforms.
Program office PMA-263 is located at Patuxent River, Maryland. This RFI is market research only; failure to respond does not preclude participation in future competitions. No incumbent contract is in place. Responses are limited to 20 pages and must be submitted electronically with appropriate Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) markings. Amendment 02 extended the deadline from October 20, 2025 to November 28, 2025.
