About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center issued a Request for Information on October 5, 2026, seeking industry partners capable of performing teardown, test, and evaluation and technical data package development on Azimuth and Elevation data package assemblies for the AN/MST-T1A MUTES and Mini-MUTES ground-based radar systems, with responses due November 5, 2026. This RFI is for information and market research purposes only and does not constitute a commitment to award a contract or accept unsolicited proposals.

The Air Force possesses twenty unserviceable data package assemblies in two variants and seeks to generate unit-specific teardown and repair requirements reports and produce a complete technical data package including detailed schematics, manufacturing-level drawings, and 3D models that do not currently exist in the Government repository. The assemblies are self-contained, line-replaceable electromechanical units containing internal gearing, switches, inclinometers, potentiometers, and torque receiver-transmitter synchro systems.

Interested vendors must submit technical whitepapers not exceeding ten pages addressing corporate and facility overview (including CAGE Code, UEI, NAICS codes 811210, 811219, or 541330, and CMMC Level 2 readiness status), TT&E and reverse-engineering methodology for legacy electromechanical assemblies, TDP generation capabilities compliant with MIL-STD-31000, component management and obsolescence approach, and optional trade studies on modernizing from synchros to resolvers. Vendors must possess active Joint Certification Program registration or certified DD Form 2345 to access technical data. CMMC Level 2 compliance is mandatory for future contract award eligibility but not required to respond to the RFI. Submit whitepapers to Joel Duran (joel.duran@us.af.mil) or Cydnee Simpson (cydnee.simpson@us.af.mil).
