About this opportunity
Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Weapon Systems Support issued a Request for Information on additive manufacturing capabilities with a response deadline of October 22, 2026 at 4:00 PM EST. This is market research only; no contract will be awarded, and responses are not binding offers.
NAVSUP WSS seeks information from qualified businesses on their ability to design, produce, and deliver end items and piece part components using additive manufacturing methods, with focus on manufacturing, material, performance, testing, and quality assurance capabilities. The RFI covers non-Level I items; the Government anticipates Level I/SUBSAFE items may become eligible for additive manufacturing in the future. A candidate NIIN list covering 129 line items—including valves (nonpowered and powered), fittings, and fans—is provided in Attachment 1; however, inclusion does not guarantee future solicitations, and the list is subject to change at the Government's discretion.
Respondents must submit information in PDF format via email to hannah.m.forsyth.civ@us.navy.mil with subject line "Request for Information: NAVSUP WSS Additive Manufacturing N0010427RZ058." Submissions should include company name, CAGE code, DUNS/UEI, business size classification, manufacturing capabilities, facilities and certifications (ISO 9001, AS9100, Level I/NAVSEA approvals), past performance examples, and feedback on performance-based incentive structures for Firm-Fixed-Price contracts and competitive evaluation criteria. Government-furnished drawings, Technical Data Packages, and 3D CAD models will not be provided. Vendors are encouraged to register capabilities in the NAVSUP Interested Vendor Database.
Notice text
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) – Additive Manufacturing
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. This notice does not constitute a request for quotations (RFQ) or invitations for bid (IFB), nor does it restrict the Government’s acquisition approach. No contract will be awarded from this announcement. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. No solicitation is available at this time. The Government is not obligated to reimburse respondents for any information submitted or costs incurred in responding to this notice.
Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) – Weapon Systems Support (WSS) is conducting market research to identify potential sources with the capability to design, produce, and deliver end items using additive manufacturing (AM) methods for piece part components or entire assemblies.
The Government is seeking information from qualified businesses on their ability to meet manufacturing, material, performance, testing, and quality assurance requirements applicable to these parts. In addition, this notice serves to gather industry perspectives on contracting structures (performance-based incentives under Firm-Fixed-Price contracts) and evaluation criteria for future competitive awards.
- Current candidate NIINs for additive manufacturing are listed in Attachment 1. This list is subject to change at any time at the Government's discretion and does not constitute a final determination for the use of additive manufacturing.
- Inclusion of an item on the attached list does not guarantee that the Government will issue requirements or solicitations for any item listed.
- The Government anticipates that Level I / SUBSAFE items may be eligible for additive manufacturing in the future.
