About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration, specifically Veterans Integrated Service Network 6, is seeking a contractor to repurpose the fountain at Building No. 1's main entrance located in Fayetteville, NC. The project requires comprehensive modification of the existing fountain, including removing current plumbing, electrical components, and interior tile layers, drilling drainage holes in the basin, adding planting soil, and replacing surface tiles with natural earth-tone stone. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for April 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM EDT, with bid submissions due by 11:00 AM EDT on June 4, 2025. Contractors must submit detailed documentation including shop drawings, product data, and samples following strict VA review protocols. The evaluation will likely focus on compliance with technical specifications, ability to minimize disruption to medical center operations, and adherence to submission requirements.
The solicitation is exclusively set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) under NAICS category 236220 for Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. The estimated contract value ranges between $25,000 and $100,000, with a contract performance period of 15 calendar days after award and a total completion time of 150 calendar days. The project scope involves soft washing the fountain's exterior siding and ensuring all modifications meet the VA's precise specifications. Contractors must maintain medical center operational continuity throughout the project and provide comprehensive warranty documentation. The place of performance is the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina, with specific attention required to site access, security protocols, and utility management during the renovation process.
