Performance occurs at Naval Medical Center San Diego, Building 1, third floor, Laboratory Department, Histology and Cytology divisions, 34800 Bob Wilson Drive, San Diego, CA 92134-5000. The Q&A removes the Microm Cryostat as non-functional. The base period runs December 15, 2026, through December 14, 2027, with four optional 12-month periods. Preventive maintenance occurs once per 12-month period in December, and the base-year visit falls between December 15-31, 2026, or early January 2027. Corrective repairs are performed Monday through Friday, 0800-1600, with no after-hours work requested.
Service personnel must hold OEM training certificates or certificates from accredited third-party service schools specializing in histology or cytology instrumentation, and offerors must document certificates for all 16 systems. The contractor must respond to telephone notification within two hours and provide on-site support within one business day. Replacement parts must ship within two business days, and loaner equipment is provided at no charge for offsite repairs. Field Service Reports are due within 72 hours of service completion. Parts must be new; where unavailable, vendors provide OEM obsolescence documentation, and NMCSD Biomed may approve OEM-certified refurbished components in writing.
Pricing is firm-fixed-price and includes labor, parts, travel, and repairs regardless of cause. Consumables (blades, filters, film, reagents, paraffin) are excluded. Quotes require unit prices and extended totals for all line items, with FOB Destination shipping included. Billing is monthly in arrears through Wide Area Workflow.
