10/25/23: UPDATED TO ADD CLARIFICATIONS MADE BELOW:

QUESTION: Can a twin pack engine with 500 kW each that can generate 1000 kW work?

ANSWER: A twin pack 500KW EDG combo is acceptable as long as it is 31 feet long or less.  Pier space available is minimal.

QUESTION: Will 480 voltage work or will it need to be reduced to 440 voltage?

ANSWER: 480V is acceptable.  440VAC is what is required on the ship.  There will be a voltage drop in the cables.

QUESTION: Will 12550 gallon tank work or it has to be 16000 gallon tank?

ANSWER: Believe the above question has an extra digit in it.  The spec requires a 1,600 gallon tank.  1,600 gallon tank is the minimum size that our customer will accept.  They require a certain amount of run time for emergency power that allows them the flexibility with their fuel truck.  If the vendor has a diesel that is less than or equal to 31 feet, and it has a fuel capacity of 12,550 gallons, then it would be acceptable.

10/24/23: PROVIDING FURTHER DETAIL TO EXPECTED USAGE OF DIESEL GENERATOR AND LOAD TEST:

- EMERGENCY USE ONLY, NOT TO EXCEED EIGHT (8) HOURS A DAY.

- IF EIGHT (8) HOURS A DAY IS EXCEEDED, A CONTRACT MOD WOULD BE ISSUED FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDING.

- THE LOAD TEST IS REQUIRED TO BE CONDUCTED ON SITE TO ENSURE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING PROPERLY AFTER TRANSPORT.

10/23/23: SOLICITATION AMENDMENT # 0001 ADDED TO ATTACHMENTS TO INCLUDE CLIN 0003 TO BREAK OUT LOAD BANK RENTAL FROM CLIN 0001 ON SOLICITATION N6278924Q0001.

10/23/23: ADDING QUESTIONS ASKED AND ANSWERS PROVIDED REGARDING SOLICITATION N6278924Q0001:

ANSWER: The 32ft trailer is required due to pier space and constraints.

QUESTION: Voltage: 440 VAC, 60 HZ, and Three (3) Three-phase outputs – Our units are 480V

ANSWER: 480V is acceptable.

QUESTION: Fuel Capacity shall be a minimum of 1600 gallons. – Our units have 1200-gallon tanks

ANSWER: 1600 gallons is required for acceptable run time.

QUESTION: Our units have the capability; however, the fuel fill is located inside of the generator housing. You would not be able to pull up to a pump at the gas station and fill it;  if that was the intention. It’s typically filled by a fuel truck with a long hose and trigger.
