About this opportunity
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency seeks proposals through solicitation HR001121S0002 to demonstrate a quantum-based radio frequency receiver capable of receiving modulated signals across a wide spectral range from 10 MHz to 40 GHz using a single sensing element with state-of-the-art sensitivity. Proposals are due by December 18, 2020 and will be evaluated based on the ability to improve sensitivity while maintaining coherence and transmissivity, achieve fast and continuous tuning across a broad frequency range, demonstrate sensor arrays and angle of arrival detection, and receive arbitrary waveforms.
There is no set-aside designation for this opportunity. Potential proposals may fall under NAICS code 541715 or PSC code C499. Multiple awards totaling approximately $45 million are anticipated to be made over four years to support demonstrations in two technical areas: improving receiver sensitivity and exploring applications of quantum-based receivers such as sensor arrays and receiving arbitrary waveforms. Security clearances up to the Secret//Special Access Required level will also be required.
