About this opportunity
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is announcing future Quantum Computing – Applications Workshops (QC-AW) to determine the commercial impact of utility-scale quantum computers, with a December 30, 2026 due date and no set-aside. This Special Notice is not a formal solicitation, and responses are not offers that can form binding contracts. Classified information must not be included in any response.
DARPA intends to host the workshops beginning no later than January 2027 to identify high-value commercial use cases, develop industrially relevant application benchmarks, define a path toward pricing quantum computations, and explore public-private partnerships. DARPA seeks participation from commercial end users who will drive long-term demand, scientific end users, quantum algorithm developers focused on optimized circuit designs, quantum hardware vendors providing product roadmaps, and financial stakeholders interested in mechanisms such as advanced market commitments or futures markets for quantum computing capacity.
Any future QC-AW Request for Information will be posted on SAM.gov. Venue locations will be announced on a registration website, where advance registration may be required. Questions go to Micah Stoutimore, Ph.D., Managing Director, Quantum Benchmarking Initiative, at DARPA-SN-27-14@darpa.mil.
