About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration, specifically the Lebanon VA Medical Center, is seeking technician services for operating the UroNav Fusion Biopsy System. The procurement will support approximately 180 prostate cancer diagnostic procedures annually, with a focus on finding capable and responsible sources to provide specialized technical support. The contract will consist of one base year with four one-year option periods, requiring technicians who are trained and certified to operate the specific medical equipment. Interested contractors must submit a brief capability statement and response via email to Eleanor Robbins by 10:00 EDT on March 25, 2025. While the VA is not currently taking questions, respondents are encouraged to highlight any ambiguities in the draft Statement of Work and disclose relevant GSA Federal Supply Schedule contracts.
The solicitation shows a strong preference for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), though all capable contractors may respond. Contractors must provide proof of VetCert certification by the SBA if claiming SDVOSB/VOSB status. The contract will require technicians to be available 24/7, wear appropriate OR attire, coordinate with medical staff, and be present throughout surgical procedures while maintaining strict limitations on patient interaction. Each technician will be subject to background investigations, with government-covered investigation costs ranging from $125 to $3,189 depending on risk level. The contract falls under NAICS code 541990 (All Other Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services) with a Product Service Code of Q522 (Medical-Radiology), and the VA guarantees a minimum of 20 cases per year for the selected contractor.
