About this opportunity
The Department of Homeland Security's Office of Procurement Operations, Federal Protective Service, issued a Limited/Sole Source Justification Notice to extend an existing task order with Triple Canopy, Inc. for Armed Protective Security Officer (PSO) services at multiple locations in the Washington, DC area, specifically including the Federal Triangle Complex. The six-month extension runs from July 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025, with an estimated value of $26 million, representing a continuation of services under task order 70RFP224FREC00024. The sole source justification is based on the need for continuity of critical security services while allowing sufficient time to complete the competitive solicitation, evaluation, and award of a follow-on contract, with the anticipated new award date of August 31, 2025, and performance beginning January 1, 2026. The extension incorporates a new Collective Bargaining Agreement that includes a 50% increase to the blended rate along with wage and benefit adjustments. The government determined that immediately replacing the current contractor would create significant security risks due to the extensive screening, training, licensing, and transition requirements necessary for protective security officers in these sensitive federal locations.
