About this opportunity
The Department of Homeland Security's Office of Procurement Operations, Federal Protective Service Acquisitions Division, issued a Justification for Exception to Fair Opportunity (JEFO) to extend a task order with Triple Canopy, Inc. for Armed Protective Security Officer (PSO) services at the Federal Triangle Complex in Washington, DC. The extension provides for a nine-month period from January 1, 2026, through September 30, 2026, with an estimated value of $41.6 million, allowing continued protective security coverage while the government completes procurement of a follow-on competitive task order. The rationale for the limited competition approach centers on unexpected delays in the pre-solicitation phase, government shutdown impacts, and challenges in finalizing stakeholder consultations, all of which necessitate a 120-day transition period to avoid service disruption. Triple Canopy, Inc., located in Herndon, Virginia, was selected as the continuing vendor under the existing multiple award contract 70RFP224DEC000011, with their proposed rates determined to be fair and reasonable compared to market rates for similar security services. The Federal Protective Service plans to solicit a competitive task order under the current Multiple Award Contract (MAC) with an anticipated award of the follow-on task order by May 31, 2026, and a performance start date of October 1, 2026.
