About this opportunity

The Department of State has issued a Special Notice regarding an amendment to a solicitation for preventive maintenance services of six embassy generators located in Saudi Arabia. This amendment modifies the original Statement of Work (SOW) by changing the KW rating on page 2 and item number 2 on page 3, resulting in the replacement of pages 9, 11, 12, 14, and 15 of the original document. The contract covers maintenance services for diesel standby generators from various manufacturers including Cummins, Kohler, MTU, and Caterpillar, with power ratings ranging from 35 to 375 kW. These generators are located at multiple U.S. Embassy facilities in Riyadh, including the Chancery-HU, Eleanor House, CMR, GSO Annex, IPC, and Annex WH. The opportunity is classified under NAICS code 335312 for Motor and Generator Manufacturing and PSC code H949 for maintenance and repair shop equipment.

The purpose of this amendment is to provide updated technical specifications and requirements for the generator maintenance contract to ensure accurate contractor understanding and pricing. The maintenance services include comprehensive quarterly and annual schedules with tasks such as visual inspections, battery checks, fluid and filter maintenance, fuel system testing, and complete generator system evaluations following manufacturer specifications. Contractors must meet quality assurance standards outlined in the Quality Assurance and Surveillance Plan (QASP), which requires completion of all services with no more than one customer complaint per month. Notably, the due date for this solicitation appears to have passed on September 2, 2025, six days before the amendment was posted on September 8, 2025, which may indicate either a clerical error or that this is a post-award amendment. The contract does not utilize any set-aside programs, making it open to all eligible contractors capable of providing specialized generator maintenance services at overseas diplomatic facilities.
