About this opportunity

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has issued a Special Notice for preventative maintenance services for a Janus Automated Liquid Handling System used by their Auke Bay Laboratories Genetics Program. NOAA intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed-price contract to Revvity Health Sciences, Inc. for annual preventative maintenance services under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The system is utilized for next-generation sequencing protocols supporting fish species identification and genetic stock identification at the Ted Stevens Marine Research Institute in Juneau, Alaska. The contract includes a base period from October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026, with two additional one-year option periods extending through September 30, 2028. This specialized scientific equipment requires highly specialized maintenance that can only be provided by the original manufacturer.

The purpose of this Special Notice is to provide an opportunity for other potential vendors to demonstrate their capability to provide the required maintenance services before proceeding with the sole source award to Revvity Health Sciences. Interested vendors must submit capability statements by August 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM ET, including their UEI number, technical data, cost information, and convincing evidence of their ability to meet the requirements. The maintenance services must include full support within 72 hours for parts failures, one annual preventative maintenance visit, unlimited software and firmware updates, and unlimited telephone support. Capability statements must be submitted electronically to specified NOAA contracting personnel with proper subject line formatting and cannot exceed 20 MB in total file size. If no qualifying responses are received by the deadline, NOAA will proceed with the sole source award to Revvity Health Sciences without further notice.
