About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command is procuring pool coverage and accessories for two swimming pools at Beale Air Force Base, California, through the 9th Force Support Squadron. The requirement includes custom mesh pool covers with specific dimensions (Lake House: 41'7" x 74'7" and Main Base: 41'10" x 82'4"), anchoring systems, storage reels, and reel protectors to address ongoing crane fly larvae infestations and debris accumulation that have caused periodic pool closures. The pool covers must feature high-quality polypropylene fabric with 80-125 micron mesh openings, extend 18 inches beyond pool edges, and accommodate existing non-removable pool equipment including ladders, slides, and lifts. A mandatory contractor site visit is scheduled for August 7, 2025, with interested parties required to contact the solicitation contacts by 1:00 PM on August 5, 2025. The solicitation responses are due August 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM, with delivery required within 30 calendar days of contract award and installation scheduled for September 29, 2025.

This procurement is designated as a 100% set-aside for Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) under NAICS code 423910 with a size standard of 100 employees. The solicitation documents confirm this is a new requirement with no incumbent contractor currently providing these services. While specific contract values are not disclosed in the available documentation, the procurement involves two line items structured as firm fixed price arrangements. The contractor must provide a 10-year warranty on the pool covers and coordinate installation during normal business hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) with a minimum two-week advance notification. Performance will take place at Beale Air Force Base in Marysville, California, with the covers designed to function in both saltwater (Lakehouse) and freshwater (Main Base) pool environments.
