About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force is seeking sealift transportation services to support operations at the Pituffik Space Base in Greenland. The solicitation is for two annual round-trip voyages between a contractor-selected port in Denmark and Pituffik Space Base in 2025, 2026, and 2027, with a potential six-month extension. The required services include receiving cargo, providing transit storage, loading/offloading, and transporting a variety of cargo types such as general cargo, hazardous materials, refrigerated items, and containers. The contract will be awarded on a firm-fixed-price basis using a best-value trade-off approach, evaluating offerors on factors like flag vessel designation, technical capabilities, and pricing. Proposals are due by December 9, 2024.
This is an unrestricted solicitation, and the contract will be awarded to a single offeror. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 483111, Deep Sea Freight Transportation. The performance period is one base year with two one-year option periods, for a total of up to three years of service. The Pituffik Space Base is located approximately 695 miles north of the Arctic Circle, and the port season is limited to July and August each year due to ice conditions, requiring vessels to comply with the Polar Code.
