About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command, specifically the Columbus AFB Logistics Readiness Squadron (14 LRS), is seeking a contractor to remove, repair, and replace the power divider unit on a 2008 Oshkosh Striker 1500-gallon Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting Vehicle (asset number AF08L00861). The contractor must provide all necessary labor, personnel, tools, equipment, and supplies to access the power divider unit, repair faulty components such as clutches, couplers, and gaskets, and reinstall previously removed components according to industry standards and manufacturer specifications. The government clarifies that this is a partial repair rather than a complete replacement due to budget constraints, and no diagnostic report or pre-quote inspection opportunity will be provided to contractors. The evaluation will be based on technical acceptability and price, with technical capability and past performance being of greater importance when combined. Critical deadlines include questions due by August 26, 2025 at 1:00 PM CST and proposal submissions due by September 2, 2025 at 1:00 PM CST via email to the specified contracting officers.
This opportunity is designated as a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS code 811111 (General Automotive Repair) with a size standard of $9 million. No incumbent contractor information is provided in the solicitation documents. While no specific award value or budget range is disclosed, the government's emphasis on partial repair rather than full replacement suggests budget constraints are influencing the procurement approach. The contractor has a 60-calendar day period of performance from the date of award to complete the repairs, though the government is open to considering alternate completion dates. The place of performance is Columbus Air Force Base in Mississippi, specifically at 451 Simler Blvd, Building 304, with the 14 LRS arranging transportation of the vehicle to and from the maintenance facility unless vendor transport costs are comparable. All work must comply with Air Force base security requirements, and contractors must maintain current SAM registration to be eligible for award.
