About this opportunity
The CDC Office of Acquisition Services issued a notice of intent to sole source pipette and balance calibration services to Pipette Repair Service, Inc., with a response deadline of May 25, 2026. The procurement is restricted to a single vendor based on market research demonstrating that only Pipette Repair Service meets the Government's combined technical, compliance, and pricing requirements.
The vendor will provide onsite cleaning, calibration, and minor repair services at NIOSH locations in Morgantown, West Virginia and Cincinnati during a one-week visit beginning June 1, 2026, with performance extending through May 31, 2027. Services cover approximately 1,000 pipettes across major brands including Rainin, Eppendorf, Oxford, Labsystems, Finn, Titertek, Biohit, Wheaton, MLA, Matrix, Gilson, Denville, Nichiryo, and Tranferpette, plus multi-channel and single-channel configurations. The vendor must also service 76 balances. Deliverables include 800 routine pipette calibrations, 76 routine balance calibrations, 9 pipette reconditioning services, and 3 pipette certifications with ISO 17025 certification documentation and one-year warranty.
Eligibility requires ISO 17025 certification, demonstrated on-site repair capability across specified pipette brands, and ability to provide calibration certificates and reports. The justification document notes that two alternative vendors—Unity Lab Services and Transcat—were evaluated but rejected; Transcat lacked on-site service capability and pricing advantage, while Unity Lab Services did not demonstrate equivalent overall value.
Interested parties may submit comments by May 25, 2026.
