About this opportunity
The Department of Health and Human Services Indian Health Service has published a Notice of Intent to Sole Source for hospital accreditation compliance services at Pine Ridge, South Dakota. This special notice announces the government's intention to award a sole source contract to Bryant Healthcare Consultants, Inc. for Hospital Accreditation Compliance Assessments and Leadership Support. The notice is issued in accordance with FAR 5.201(b)(1)(i) and serves as an informational announcement rather than a competitive solicitation. The Indian Health Service operates a comprehensive healthcare network serving approximately 2.8 million American Indians and Alaska Native people through over 605 hospitals, clinics, and health stations across 37 states. These facilities must maintain accreditation and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services certification to ensure quality care and support third-party billing eligibility.
The contract modification has a total estimated value of $2,014,920.00 and is justified under FAR 6.302-2 for unusual and compelling urgency, as four IHS healthcare facilities are at risk of non-compliance with The Joint Commission accreditation standards. While responses are not anticipated, interested parties who believe they can fulfill requirements within an immediate timeframe may submit comprehensive capability information by 5:00 pm EST on September 8, 2025. Contractors currently providing staffing services at any specified facilities are excluded from consideration due to potential conflicts of interest that could impair objectivity. The government conducted market research through a Request for Information and Sources Sought Notice from January to March 2025, receiving 12 and 8 responses respectively, but no companies demonstrated the required capability within the necessary timeframe. The contract will provide consultation and professional support to help maintain compliance with accreditation standards, including leadership mentoring, executive team support, and organizational gap analyses across critical areas such as infection prevention, leadership, and governance.
