The technicians must have a minimum of 5 years of experience conducting ultrasonic testing on USACE hydraulic steel structures and be certified to ASNT or ANSI/ASNT Level II standards. The key objectives are to detect, size, and characterize flaws in the weld specimens using ultrasonic testing techniques. The procurement is set aside for HUBZone small businesses. The government has provided examples of companies that have performed similar in-service weld inspections in the past 5 years, but has not extended the proposal due date. The contract will require the 8 technicians to conduct the testing at the USACE Regional Rivers Repair Fleet (LR3F) Facility in Louisville, KY during the period of January 21 - February 14, 2025, with testing taking place during business hours on consecutive weekdays not to exceed 5 days.
