About this opportunity
The National Institutes of Health, Office of Acquisitions, seeks Oxford Nanopore PromethION flow cells and cDNA-PCR sequencing kits for the National Institute on Aging's Center for Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias, with responses due June 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM EDT. This is a non-competitive, brand-name procurement issued under FAR 12.603 and is not expected to exceed the simplified acquisition threshold.
Oxford Nanopore Technologies Inc., One Kendall Square, Building 1400, Suite 14-305, Cambridge, MA 02139, is the sole intended awardee. The requirement comprises 72 units of PromethION Flow Cells Packs DNA (catalog number FLO-PRO114M) and 48 units of cDNA-PCR Sequencing Kit V14 (catalog number SQK-PCS114), to support long-read RNA sequencing on ROSMAP brain samples using existing PromethION 48 sequencer infrastructure. Delivery is to the National Institute on Aging Center for Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias at 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, Maryland, with a period of performance of six months from date of award.
The flow cells must generate consensus data at modal accuracy above 99% and be compatible with PromethION 48 sequencers. The sequencing kit must require no more than 10 ng poly(A)+ RNA or 500 ng total RNA as starting material and provide six reactions compatible with R10.4.1 nanopore chemistry. NAICS code is 325413, In-Vitro Diagnostic Substance Manufacturing; PSC code is 6550. Responses must include unit pricing, shipping and handling costs, delivery timeframe, FAR 52.212-3 certifications, UEI, TIN, business size certification, and proof of active SAM registration. Amendment 0001, effective June 8, 2026, corrected the catalog number for the sequencing kit and extended the deadline from June 8 to June 10.
