About this opportunity
Naval Facilities Engineering Command seeks replacement of barn doors with an overhead coiling door system at Building B149, Bay J, MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina, with proposals due September 17, 2026 at 1200 local time. This is a total small business set-aside limited to four pre-selected M&R MACC holders: T.E. Davis Construction Company, Joyce & Associates Construction, Inc., Olympic Enterprises, Inc., and Quadrant Construction.
The Government's estimated project cost is less than $25,000. Work must be completed within 90 calendar days of task order award. The scope involves demolishing existing wood barn doors and metal hardware mounted on a masonry opening (approximately 8 feet wide by 10 feet high) and installing a new spring-counterbalanced, rolling overhead coiling door with Grade A galvanized steel interlocking slats. The door system must be manually operated via hand chain with a 3:1 geared reduction unit requiring no more than 35 pounds of pull force, withstand 50 pounds per square foot wind loading per ANSI/DASMA 108 and ASTM E330/E330M, and operate through a minimum of 10 cycles per day. The counterbalance system must use oil-tempered, heat-treated steel helical torsion springs providing 80 percent weight counterbalance and limiting manual operation effort to 25 pounds maximum. All contractor personnel require Defense Biometrics Identification System credentials or one-day passes. Work is conducted during regular hours (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday) with Contracting Officer approval required for outside-hours work. Award is made on a lowest-price basis without discussions. Pre-proposal inquiries close September 10, 2026. The NAICS code is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction.
