About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 16 is seeking qualified diagnostic medical physicist services to evaluate the operation of all imaging and x-ray devices at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VAMC. The scope of work includes inspection of CT units, gamma cameras, MRI units, rad/fluoro rooms, c-arms, portable x-ray devices, fixed specialty units, shielding design, and CR readers using appropriate radiation measuring devices and phantoms. Contractors must possess the qualifications necessary to perform comprehensive diagnostic medical physics evaluations and must be capable of producing written reports for each x-ray device that identify the device by serial number and document functional parameters. The contractor shall submit all evaluation reports to the Radiation Safety Officer within 5 working days following completion of the inspection. All x-ray and imaging equipment is required to be inspected at least annually. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on February 3, 2026, with a due date of February 6, 2026, providing a brief window for interested parties to respond.
This procurement opportunity carries no set-aside designation and is classified under NAICS code 541690 (Other Scientific and Technical Consulting Services) and PSC code R499 (Support-Professional: Other). The pre-solicitation notice does not specify a potential incumbent contractor, award value, or detailed budget range in the publicly available information. The requirement for annual inspections of multiple imaging modalities suggests an ongoing service contract with regular performance obligations. Additional detailed information regarding evaluation criteria, contract duration, and specific technical requirements is referenced in the attached Performance Work Statement (PWS) document, which should be reviewed for comprehensive understanding of the procurement specifications.
