The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 16, is soliciting proposals for Medical Physicist Services to provide qualified diagnostic medical physicists to evaluate and perform quality assurance testing on all imaging equipment at the G.V. The contractor must provide certified diagnostic medical physicists holding American Board of Radiology certification in Diagnostic Medical Physics or Medical Nuclear Physics to conduct annual inspections, equipment evaluations, and quality assurance testing on 72 imaging devices including CT units, MRI systems, gamma cameras, x-ray equipment, fluoroscopy systems, and computed radiography readers. The qualified diagnostic medical physicist(s) shall perform an evaluation of the operation of all G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VAMC x-ray or imaging devices including CT (Computed Tomography) units, gamma cameras, MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) units, rad/fluoro rooms, c-arms, portable x-ray devices, fixed specialty units, shielding design, and CR (Computed Radiography) readers using appropriate radiation measuring devices and phantoms. The contractor shall present a written report on each x-ray device identifying the x-ray device by serial number as well as the functional parameters of the x-ray device. See PWS for more details.
