About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency is seeking contractors to provide secure media destruction services for various types of storage media including CD-ROMs, floppy disks, VHS tapes, and DLT tapes stored at the Defense Supply Center Richmond in Virginia. The contractor must destroy approximately 9 gaylords (large industrial containers) weighing a total of 7,342 pounds of media using certified methods that comply with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) destruction standards per DODI 5200.48, ensuring all materials are rendered unreadable, indecipherable, and irrecoverable. Key requirements include maintaining chain of custody throughout the destruction process, being certified with the National Association of Information Destruction, and providing a Certificate of Destruction upon completion. The contract will be awarded using the lowest price technically acceptable evaluation method, with vendors required to meet all technical requirements outlined in the Statement of Work. The original response deadline of September 2, 2025, has been extended to September 4, 2025, at 12:00 PM EST through Amendment 0001, with interested contractors instructed to complete the attached Section B pricing template and submit offers to Contract Specialist Ben Maxwell.
This procurement does not utilize any small business set-aside designations and is open to all qualified contractors. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the solicitation documents, and no specific contract value or budget range has been disclosed by the government. The work involves processing 9 gaylords of mixed loose media materials that can be transported off-site to a Top Secret cleared facility within safe driving distance if necessary, though on-site destruction at the Richmond facility is also acceptable. The performance period requires completion within 120 days after contract award, with the contractor responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and complying with applicable safety and environmental regulations. The project has emerged due to the current disintegrator equipment at the facility being either non-operational or experiencing significant backlogs, creating an urgent need for alternative secure destruction services.
