About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers file for a Media Destruction Project. The document provides clarification on six key aspects of the media destruction requirement: off-site destruction is acceptable, incineration is an approved destruction method, the total media weight is 7,342 lbs across 9 gaylords, the media consists of VHS tapes, CD-ROMs, and floppy disks, the media is currently loose and mixed in gaylords, and the contractor can transport materials to a TS cleared facility within safe driving distance. The government's primary requirements are maintaining chain of custody and providing a certificate of destruction after processing, with no requirement for on-site government witnessing of the destruction process.
