About this opportunity

Air Education and Training Command is soliciting quotes for a Lasergraphics ScanStation 6.5K Archival Film Scanner system with quotes due August 27, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. CDT. This is a total small business set-aside with a brand name justification (RFO 11.204(a)(2)(ii)) limiting competition to Lasergraphics equipment.

Place of performance is Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, Building 1405. The system must be a complete, turnkey solution capable of scanning 8mm, Super 8mm, 16mm, and 35mm film formats (including 2, 3, and 4-perforation variants) with a minimum native resolution of 6.5K and 16-bit High Dynamic Range image capture. The scanner must feature a continuous-motion, sprocket-less film transport with optical perforation management and simultaneous optical or magnetic soundtrack capture. All critical image processing—resizing, color correction, and scaling—must be performed by dedicated internal hardware rather than host computer software. The system must generate uncompressed DPX sequences, Apple ProRes files (4444, 422 HQ), and WAV/BWF audio files.

Delivery includes the scanning unit, pre-configured host computer, operating software, and physical accessories. The contractor must perform on-site installation at Maxwell AFB and provide a minimum of two consecutive days of comprehensive on-site training for up to four government personnel covering operation, software use, and routine maintenance. All equipment must be brand new; refurbished items are prohibited. An Original Equipment Manufacturer standard commercial warranty of minimum one year is required at no additional cost. NAICS code is 334118; PSC code is 7670. Award will be made to the lowest-priced offeror meeting minimum requirements. Quotes should include unit and extended prices and be submitted via email to SrA Malik Bacon (malik.bacon@us.af.mil, 334-953-2253) and Contracting Officer Jeremy Kersey (jeremy.kersey.1@us.af.mil, 334-953-3526).
