About this opportunity

The National Institute of Health's Clinical Center's Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences requires the procurement of a maintenance contract for three MR patient monitors manufactured by Invivo Corporation, which is a part of Philip Healthcare and Philip North America LLC. The monitors are required for patient care and to support the needs of the MR imaging section. Invivo/Philips Healthcare/Philips North America LLC is the only company capable of maintaining the equipment to the required OEM standards for patient safety. The maintenance contract is for a period of 12 months, from December 7, 2024 to December 6, 2025. The agency is seeking responses from capable vendors by November 27, 2024, and will consider all submissions before determining whether to compete this requirement.

This is a sole-source procurement, as Invivo/Philips Healthcare/Philips North America LLC is the only vendor that can provide the necessary maintenance services. The contract is not set aside for any particular business category. The specific equipment to be maintained includes three MR Patient Care Portal 5000 models, three Expression Patient Monitor MR400 models, and six F07 Basic + AA,O2,IBP(x2),Temp monitors. The impact of not providing a maintenance contract would be a disruption in providing safe patient care at the NIH Clinical Center.

Notice text

The National Institute of Health’s Clinical Center’s Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences requires the procurement of a maintenance contract for three MR patient monitors with the requirement to support the MR imaging section within the department. These patient monitors are required for patient care and to support the needs of the MR section in the Clinical Center. These machines are manufactured by Invivo Corporation, which is a part of Philip Healthcare and Philip North America LLC.

InVivo/Philips Healthcare/Philips North America LLC is the only company capable of maintaining the equipment to the standard (including Original Equipment Manufacturer, OEM, standards) required for patient safety in the Clinical Center. If the monitors are not properly maintained to OEM standards, the equipment may not function properly and may not be able to monitor patient vital signs accurately. Without accurate patient vital sign monitoring, clinicians will be unable to render proper care to their patients. Without proper care, patients’ conditions could worsen and lead to worsening conditions or in extreme cases, death.
