About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Test Center at Eglin Air Force Base is soliciting quotes for the installation of lightning protection systems on 35 aircraft sun shelters located at the aircraft maintenance ramp. The solicitation (FA2823-26-Q-A045) requires contractors to supply all necessary components, equipment, labor, and supervision for a complete turnkey installation that must comply with Department Air Force Instruction 21-101 Chapter 15, Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) 13-31-33, AFM 32-1065, UFC 3-575-01, and NFPA 780. The lightning grounding systems must include air terminals extending at least 10 inches above structures, dual paths to ground at opposite corners, down conductors with minimum 8-inch bend radius, and grounding electrodes at least 10 feet long made of copper or copper-clad steel. Award will be made on a firm-fixed-price basis to the lowest-priced, responsible offeror whose quote meets all minimum technical requirements.
