About this opportunity
The Department of Energy, through Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), is seeking an offeror to provide the fabrication, dimensional inspection, assembly, vacuum testing, and delivery of 63 radio frequency (RF) bellows assemblies for the Advanced Light Source Upgrade (ALS-U) project. The detailed design of the RF bellows has been completed by LBNL, and some prototypes have been tested. While this is a "build to print" contract, the subcontractor is able to propose minor changes for ease of fabrication. Offerors must provide documentation to prove they meet the required qualifications, including recent direct experience manufacturing complex UHV chambers for particle accelerator applications and the capability to machine specific materials using advanced machining techniques.
This is not a set-aside contract. The total quantity of RF bellows units to be delivered is 63, with 5 different types of assemblies. The contract requires delivery of the first batch of 10 bellows within 14 weeks of award, and the full production within 36 weeks of receipt of order. The place of performance is Berkeley, CA 94720, USA.
