About this file
This document is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) under the University of California (UC) contract with the Department of Energy (DOE). The RFQ is for the fabrication, dimensional inspection, assembly, vacuum testing, and delivery of 63 RF bellows assemblies of 5 different types for the LBNL Advanced Light Source Upgrade (ALS-U) project. The detailed design of the RF bellows has been completed by LBNL, and some prototypes have been tested.
The RFQ specifies mandatory requirements for bidders, including recent direct experience manufacturing complex UHV chambers for particle accelerator applications, capability to machine specific materials using advanced machining techniques, and the ability to perform CMM inspection. Bid responses must include documentation demonstrating these qualifications. The RFQ provides a detailed line item breakdown for the various RF bellows components, with quantities, unit pricing, and delivery schedule. Pricing is expected to be firm, fixed, and NONTAXABLE under LBNL's California Seller's Permit. The RFQ has a due date of June 24, 2024.
