About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Headquarters District Washington is seeking a concert venue to host The United States Air Force Band's 2026 Guest Artist and Jazz Heritage concert series. The vendor must provide a fully-equipped concert hall located within the National Capital Region, specifically within 15 miles of Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, with a minimum audience capacity of 900 and a stage size of 2,500 square feet. Key requirements include supplying specialized ancillary equipment such as a 9-foot concert grand piano, DLP projector, stage blacks, follow spots, music stands, risers, chairs, and a Marley dance floor, along with back-of-house personnel, custodial service, security, and complimentary on-site parking. The government has explicitly excluded Northern Virginia Community College's Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall & Arts Center from consideration as it intends to conduct market research to identify alternative responsible sources capable of meeting all venue requirements. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on December 2, 2025, with responses due by December 7, 2025.
This is a non-set-aside procurement classified under NAICS 711310 (Promoters of Performing Arts, Sports, and Similar Events with Facilities) and PSC X1AB (Lease/Rental of Conference Space and Facilities). The performance schedule encompasses six paired rehearsal and performance dates spanning from January 28-29 through April 8-9, 2026, with an additional performance series on April 15-16. While the notice does not specify an explicit award value or budget range, the comprehensive nature of the requirements—including venue rental, equipment provision, personnel, and services across multiple performance events over a four-month period—suggests a substantial contract. The government's stated intent to award this as a sole-source contract while simultaneously seeking market research indicates an opportunity for qualified vendors to position themselves as alternatives to the currently excluded incumbent venue.
