About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration (VA) Network Contracting Office 6 has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to conduct a sole source procurement with Trillamed LLC for preventative maintenance services on sterilization equipment at the Durham VA Medical Center, Greenville Health Care Center. The procurement falls under NAICS code 339113 for Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing and PSC code J065 for Medical Equipment Maintenance and Repair. The contract will cover quarterly preventative maintenance services for government-owned equipment, including labor, parts, supplies, and necessary equipment. The sole source procurement will be executed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, utilizing the procedures outlined in FAR 13.106-1(b) for soliciting from a single source. The contract period is set for January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025, with provisions for four additional one-year options.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to establish a maintenance service contract with a specialized vendor capable of providing original equipment manufacturer (OEM) services for medical equipment. Contractors must be an OEM, authorized dealer, distributor, or reseller, and must provide verification through authorized documentation from the original equipment manufacturer. The VA explicitly prohibits the use of gray market or remanufactured items, emphasizing that such items would constitute a breach of contract. Eligible vendors must ensure all software licensing, warranties, and services comply with the OEM's terms and conditions. The VA reserves the right to enforce contractual remedies, including contract termination or requiring replacement of non-compliant items at no cost to the government. While this notice is not a request for quotation, the VA will consider any information received solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The government retains full discretion in making the final determination about the procurement process.
